applegate river lavender farm

Applegate River Lavender Farm, which used to be called Lavender Fields Forever, is a small farm that has been run by the same family since 2011.

It’s perfect for a “lavender experience” because it’s in the Applegate Valley, 15 miles north of Applegate Lake, and near many vineyards.

Attractions at the farm include seven types of culinary and aromatic lavenders, lavender that you can pick yourself, artisan-made lavender products, lavender essential oil that is distilled on the farm, delicious lavender treats, a product refill station, lavender-related classes, and shady places to hang out.

You can choose between the picturesque barn, the many shady trees, and places around the lavender field. Open from the middle of June to the beginning of August.

There are six different family-run lavender farms in the area. Most of them offer U-pick lavender flowers, beautiful lavender products and crafts, classes, essential oil distillation, and lavender plants in pots.

Also on our tour is the OSU demonstration garden. Stop by to see a lot of different kinds of lavender and then visit all of the venues for free to enjoy the look, smell, and taste of lavender! In June and July, when the lavender is usually in full bloom, our farms are open.

Please note that venues have slightly different opening times, so please check for hours and information about classes, special events, and other things going on. We hope to see you out on the trail.

We are a small Applegate River Lavender Farm run by a family. started letting people in in 2011.

We are right next to the Applegate River, about 15 miles north of Applegate Lake and close to the small Oregon town of Ruch.

Our 5-acre farm has 1,000 lavender plants of seven different kinds (Ana Luisa, Ms. Katherine, Royal Purple, Alba, Grosso, Gros Bleu, and Hidcote Giant), which keep the bees busy during the hot summer months.

We love showing people around our farm, and we never get tired of seeing our guests smile as they take in the sights and smells of an ocean of purple.

Our shop is in a big barn that is surrounded by walnut and maple trees that provide shade. People can relax, unwind, and get away from the stresses of life in an open grassy area with a swing and picnic tables.

In everything we do, we try to use as little single-use plastic as possible and use farming methods that are good for the environment. We pick each type of lavender by hand and distil it separately in small batches, using only the flowers. This lets the different qualities of each variety shine through.

We have a variety of essential oils and lavender products that are made by hand. You can also get treats and refreshing lavender lemonade.

People can pick their own fresh bundles of lavender, or we can do it for them. We also have a number of educational classes and farm tours.

appreciate you buying from local family farms. We hope to see you soon. From June 17 to early August, the Applegate River Lavender Farm is open most weekends, Friday through Sunday, from 10 am to 3 pm. Please check our website to find out our exact hours and when we’re open.

In the beautiful Applegate River Lavender Farm , Derek and Sue Owen run a family lavender farm. In 2012, organic methods were use to plant lavender in fields that had been use to grow Christmas trees.

The soil, the south-facing hillside, and the high altitude give the lavender the best growing conditions for the best English lavender.

They have over 6,000 plants and more than a dozen different kinds of Applegate River Lavender Farm . Their crop is pick by hand, and in a traditional copper still, steam is used to make alcohol. Derek explains that they are open almost every day during the season, starting when the flowers are at their best.

Almost everything they make uses their essential oil, and Sue and Derek make most of their unique lavender products by hand right there on the farm.

They have a wide range of lavender products, from delicious homemade sweets to heavenly bath and beauty products to beautifully made heat wraps, neck rolls, candles, and lavender sachets. When the lavender is in bloom, in June and July, you can always buy a lavender plant, take a class on making wreaths and wands, watch a demonstration of how to use essential oils, and pick your own lavender to take home.

You have to try the lavender ice cream and the strawberry lavender lemonade. They have a shady picnic area where you can bring your whole family to spend the day enjoying nature, taking great pictures, or just reading a book and taking in the smell of summer.
